Swedish Massage:
Swedish massage incorporates a variety of techniques specifically designed to relax muscles by applying pressure to them against deeper muscles and bones. This massage is light and relaxing, utilizing long, flowing strokes, often but not necessarily in the direction of the heart; its gentle touch takes you to a new level of stress reduction.
Deep Tissue & Trigger Point Massage:
Working a specific joint, muscle, or muscle group, your therapist can access deeper layers of the soft tissue. Because each body part experiences pressure differently, your therapist will start superficially and ease into the depth of the muscle slowly to allow more movement. Deep tissue massage uses many of the same movements and techniques as Swedish massage, but the pressure will generally be more intense. It is also a more focused type of massage, as the therapist works to release chronic muscle tension or knots.
Sports Massage:
Incorporating Sports massage in your physical training and conditioning program has many benefits. It helps you recover from strenuous physical training faster with less stiffness and soreness, relieving conditions which may cause injury. Sports massage, in correlation with proper diet, stretching, and conditioning can improve athletic performance.
Prenatal Massage:
Prenatal Massage is a form of therapeutic bodywork which focuses on the special needs of the mother-to-be as her body goes through the dramatic changes leading up to childbirth. The techniques used enhance the well being of both mother and baby.
Hot Stone Massage:
A deeply soothing and relaxing massage that combines Swedish or Deep Tissue Massage with 15-30 smooth basalt stones heated to 125 degrees. Your therapist will use traditional strokes of massage while holding the heated stone. Stones may be placed in specific points along your spine, in the palm of your hand, or even between your toes to improve the flow of energy in your body. The heat of the stone will allow muscles to release more quickly and you will experience an enhanced release of toxins and a deeper sense of relaxation.
Reflexology Massage:
Reflexology massage is the practice of manipulating reflex areas on the feet that correspond to specific body parts and organs. The body is viewed as a series of vertical running zones, beginning and ending in the hands and feet. Reflexology can help restore and maintain the body's natural equilibrium. This encourages the body to work naturally to restore its own healthy balance. |
